Q: Can anyone tell me the "unladen weight" for a 2006 Ford F150 XLT Super Crew?
I want to get it with passenger plates but it has to be under 5500 lbs of unladen weight in New York. Thank you. I don't have the truck ~ I'm thinking about one so I can't look at the title or inside the door for the info.

A: 2006 Ford F-150 Trucks SuperCrew 139" XLT 6800 pounds........

Q: What kind of power does my 2006 Ford F-150 XLT crew cab have in the engine?
I drive a 2006 Ford F150 XLT crew cab completely stock. What kind of power does it have and what sort of towing capacity does it have. Also what is it's projected top speed with 93 octane gasoline? Thanks!

A: With 4.6L it will have 231 HP. With the 5.4L it will have 300 HP. Towing capacity will vary with rear end ratio, payload package selection, whether or not it has the factory towing package, which engine it has, 4WD Vs. 2WD, etc. But ballpark would be around 5000 pounds for the 4.6L with the 3.08 or 3.31 rear end to up around 9000 pounds for the 5.4L with HD payload package, towing package and 3.73 or 4.10 gears. As for speed. IIRC there is a governor on these trucks that limits top speed to under 100 MPH. These vehicles are not fast even with the 5.4L they are rather lethargic in stock form. The 4.6L is a joke in the 04-08 models. The 04-08's weigh around 400-800+ pounds more than the previous 97-03 trucks. Realistically I wouldn't tow more than 5000-6000 pounds with a 5.4L truck and probably wouldn't tow anything other than maybe a jetski with a 4.6L truck Both engines were designed to run on 87 octane. Using 93 octane will yield no benefit with the stock tune.

Q: Does anyone own a 2006 F150 SuperCrew XLT?
I want to know how you like it and the pros and cons. I am about to buy one when I return from overseas duty in Korea. Thank you

A: As a Ford Dealer Collision Manager, I have seen both come into the shop for front end imacts and I would say the Ford Held up better in a hard front impact vs. the 06 Chevrolet 1500 series

Q: The 2005-2006 F150 has a couple different models. There is an XL, XLT, and STX.?
For a v6 4.2 L, which is the most expensive, least expensive and what are the differences between the 3? Which has the best MPG? Thanks I have been looking for this online and can't find it.

A: The models range from bare bones to extravegant in this order: XL, STX, XLT, FX4, Lariat, King Ranch The V-6 engine will get 15city/20hwy mpg.

Q: 2006 Ford F150 Starting Problem?
I have a 06 F150 XLT 4x4, when i go to start it, it sometimes sounds like when you already have your car started it sounds like that when i try to turn the key. So I wait a sec and try again and it turns over fine. This only seems to happen like 1 out of 20 or so starts. Just would like to know how to fix it. Thanks. So a new starter would solve this issue.

A: most common cause would be your starter is not fully engaging the flywheel a new starter would fix it another possible cause would be missing or broken teeth on the flywheel ...this is of course a much more labor intensive repair as you would have to pull the transmission to gain access to it.

Q: Problems with Xenon Headlights (Ford)?
Ok so I just went and bought Xenon Headlights for my truck. I plug them in and they work for a second, and go off. I plug in my original and they work fine. There 90W lights that I got... Right part number and everything. Anyone have any ideas why there cutting out?! Its a 2006 xlt f150.

A: Check that you connected it correctly, elsewise, go to your dealer.

Q: Can anyone tell me the "unladen weight" for a 2006 Ford F150 XLT Super Crew?
I want to get it with passenger plates but it has to be under 5500 lbs of unladen weight in New York. Thank you.

A: Did you look at the driver's door jam and see if there is a sticker there that has the inertia test weight on it? That is the unladen weight that you are seeking. You can also look here, I have been trying to open the 2006 version, but my laptop just can't handle the 19.9MB file size: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdirs/retail/default.asp?pageid=pubs_camper_main&gutsid=camper_loading Your best bet is to drive the truck to a repair facility that has a scale and have it weighed without load, that way you will have a printout of proof of it's weight, just make sure that the weighing equipment has been certified recently. Most truck repair places along the Interstates have scales.
