Q: Can I tow a Travel Trailer with a 2006 Ford F150?
Specifics:
Trailer is 28ft and 7500lbs GVWR
Truck:
2006 F150 Lariat 5.4L V8 3.73 gear ratio. It looks to have the Ford towing package on it.
Thank you for your help.
A: Should be able to this website says 9000 lbs. http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/review.aspx?year=2006&make=Ford&model=F-150&cp-documentid=435058
I would check your manual and your trailer hitch specs (on the trailer hitch) just to be sure, but it should work.
Q: Looking for a new subwoofer setup for a 2006 f150?
Hello, I have a 2006 f150 and i thought it was about time for me to upgrade the sound in it. I wanted to buy 1 or 2 subwoofers but i dont know what subwoofers will provide the bass i want with the limited air i can fit in a box. I found several of the boxes that can fit under my seat but i didnt know how loud that would sound. Can anyone tell me a good setup for this truck? I want some heavy bass.
thanks.
Sorry its a supercab or extended cab. not a supercrew. its the style with the half a door.
A: i think your best bet is to get a Pioneer Premier shallow mount woofer. i recomend these to anyone with a truck or any car with tight space. these are only 4" thick and they sound amazing. you have to hear them to believe them. they hit as hard as the subs at Best Buy, if not harder. you have to go into a private shop that sells Pioneer Premier. oh, and there only about $180 each.
good luck
Q: does a stock 2006 Ford F150 with a 5.4 L Triton V8 have enough power to do a burnout?
does a stock 2006 Ford F150 with a 5.4 L Triton V8 have enough power to do a burnout?
and how do i get my tires to spin?
A: Yes, it does.
If you have the right driver, a 5.4 F150 will have no trouble doing a burnout.
Q: I need to reset the maintenance light in a 2006 ford f150?
Recently bought an used 2006 ford f150, did my oil change and now I want to reset the maintenance light but can't find the way and I don't have the owner's manual. Use to have an older model wich was easier to reset. 10 points to the more helpful answer
A: U HAVE A BOTTOMS ON THE DASH" INFO, RESET..."
SO, TURN THE IGNITION ON, HOLD THE INFO 'TIL IT LITES UP ON THE DASH, THEN PUSH INFO 'TIL THE "OIL LIFE" SHOWS UP, THEN HIT RESET, AND HOLD IT 'TIL IT WILL RESET IT...
Q: Does anyone have any ideas on how to increse the fuel milage on a 2006 F150 truck?
Currently I am getting 15 mpg & I would feel better if I got 18-19. I am not a speed demon so speed limit is covered.
A: utilizing the chip can get you some extra points, but start with a high flow air filter such as the K&N (I gained 9 mpg on my Chysler with just a high flow cone filter...)
Next move at least one inch above the stock exhaust system.
(A friend of mine is getting 27 mpg in his 2500 diesel after these mods)
(I will move my exhaust from 2.5 to at least 3.5 inches, but I would like to see 4 inches)
Buy a tonneu cover for the bed, especially if you only haul small or light loads that fit inside the bed rails.
Change rear end gears, if you have anything above 3.73's
(move to the 3.55 or 3.3 range)
4.10's are generally overkill, except for heavy haul.
Don't use A/C, and install some window covers, so as to reduce wind drag when having the windows down a bit.
Wide open windows are a major wind drag.
and last but not least, if you are sitting rather high, lower the truck to reduce wind drag under the truck.

I have seen reports of 10-50% gains, depending upon the efficiency of the vehicle to start with.
I will be putting a kit on my 1986 F350 6.9 in short time.
Q: If I install a 3" leveling kit on my 2006 F150, will it mess up the alignment of the grille guard?
I have a ranch hand grille guard on the truck currently, any help would be appreciated.
A: no a leveling kit goes under or in your springs, this raises your suspension not your body, a body lift is what messess with the bumper height, your bumper and body won't move just the suspension will with a leveling kit. good luck
Q: how do you mount the lower billet grill on a 2006 f150?
The lower grill came with clamps and an almost L shaped metal piece that looks like it is suppose to be screwed in somewhere but I can't find and hole to secure it to on the truck. Where dooes this go?
A: there should be some screws near the edge top and bottum on each side
and maybe 2 in the center
there should also be some alignment pegs to help it stay in place
Q: How can i do a cheap lift kit for my 2006 f150?
I know for the rear its as simple as putting the car on blocks, but how about the front. What would be the cheapest way to put just a couple of inches on my truck. Its a 4 door, 2 wheel drive. Im not worried about the ride... just looks. I dont take it off road.
A: race-dezert.com or dezertrangers.com look in the classifieds....or maybe in the forums for some parts that someone is selling. the people here are awesome.
or to go new i would look into a spindle or spacers for the top of the springs. and for the rear i would use shackles instead of blocks, they are about the same price and about the same amount of work, but much more stable, and less prone to axle wrap (twisting your axle)
Q: I was welding on a 2006 F150 and didn't unplug battery now it won't start what is wrong?
Now everything works like the lights horn windows power lock doors. What could it be and before I started welding it was starting to have trouble starting. Now I know where the fuel safety switch is on passenger side behind the kicker panel but can anyone tell me exactly where it is at? Also any suggestions on what moduler it could be
A: Oh Wow Man!! Now you went and did it.
Q: Locked the keys in a 2006 f150 with the engine running.?
I know, the factory code is on the silly owners manual, but its in the truck, too. Anybody know the factory code or a way to find it out?
Wow! What a big flippin help you are there #1!! Douchebag.
A: where is your spare key?invest in a key buddy or some other key hider, stick it to the inside framerail underneath, and problem solved.
Q: What would cause the LCD part of panel that shows mileage to go out? 2006 F150?
Truck has 55K miles, and this just went out one day. When you start engine, the mileage flashes on for just a sec., then goes blank.
A: There is usually a module that controls it under dash or behind the instrument cluster. Had one go on my Crown Vic. & it was a $400.00 repair... Ouch!!!
Q: Which car is more reliable: a 2006 F150 or a 2006 Honda Ridgeline?
Both are priced around $17,000, if that helps.
A: I'd get the F150. Its reliable and if I'm buying a truck I want it to be able to be used as a truck.
Q: which would win in a race 1976 ford f150 or 2006 ford expedition?
a 1976 ford f150 California short bed with a 6.6 liter 400m finely tuned has 4 inch lift with 35 in. tires. against a 2006 ford expedition xlt with a 5.4 liter Triton v8 completely stock(has surprising power)?. race would be in the street not the desert.
A: The Expedition - more gears, more torque and more power (hp), probably less weight than the 1976 F150. IF THE F150 is STOCK AS WELL - otherwise, who knows?
Q: Ive installed cold air intake on 2006 f150 xlt 5.4 ltr is there a way to turn off check engine light?
Dont have computer reprogrammer, other ways to do this?
A: Installation of any aftermarket air intake systems can cause DTCs to set very easliy, particularly on newer vehicles, where the PCM is very sensitive to any "inputs" to it, that go out of spec. If there are any hoses not seated properly, it will set lean codes. To "turn the check engine light off" will require making certain that you have no vacuum leaks, or else the light will come back on. To "erase" the DTCs, fix the "problem", and disconnect the battery for 30 seconds.
Q: What size tires can i fit on my 2006 F150 SuperCrew 4x4 with a leveling kit?
