Q: What size Tires and rims should i put on a 2003 F150 with a 3 inch body lift?
I am going to install a 3 inch body lift on a 2003 F150, and i want bigger BLACK rims and wide, off road tires. What sizes should i get?

A: There's a limit with the drive train gearing. usually the factory is pretty smart and picks the best diameter for the gearing. Nothing else matters. You do know going larger diameter makes the entire system less power and needs more power to keep up on the freeway then needs more fuel. There is no winning this one unless you change the rear end gears. Changing gears now makes the larger tires the same as if they were stock. If you towed a trailer in the past, you will notice it's more work. Just line up stock wheel and tire up to the wheels & tires you want and don't go past a 1/2" more in height.

Q: Would 17x9 inch rims with a 5x135mm bolt pattern fit my 2003 f150?
I am looking at buying these 17x9 inch rims with a 5x135mm bolt pattern for my 2003 f150, would these fit? If so, would 265/70R17 tires fit on these rims?

Q: How much cfm is required to cool 2003 f150 5.4L?
How much cfm is required to cool 2003 f150 5.4L? I am changing from belt driven to electric fan and would really like to no the air flow I need. Is 1500cfm good or should I look for more. Throttle body spacer, Cold air intake, High flow exhuast, are only mods so far!?!?

A: look for more! 2000-2500cfm is a good choice, the HP gain is not all that much more not looking at the price of a reliable set of fans $200+. If your set on getting a electric fan try the 5.0 liter mustang black magics they are proven coolers on and off the track.Thought of upgrading to underdrive pulleys "March Performance" or a Hypertech programmer, your breathing better with your up grades but a bit of extra timing and fuel would help which the programmer will help with

Q: How will cutting off my 2003 F150 Catalytic converter effect the truck?
Wanting to cut it off for new exhaust but don't want to mess the pick itself up.

A: typically with today's cars, it will hurt more than it helps,, i would recommend getting a high flow cat if it is performance you are looking into. but no point in getting unless you are going to headers and exhaust.

Q: My 2003 F150 has had the vacuum motor and valves replaced but I still lose 4X4 usually under load. Ideas?
The last thing someone guessed was that somehow the hubs are properly sealed leading to loss of vacuum. Does this sound possible? Any other ideas?

A: i had a dodge ram that would lose vacuum at higer elevations would lose 4x4 and even the flaps on the heater /ac would change due to a faulty charcoal canister

Q: Will hollowing out my manifold on my 2003 F150 with a V6 4.2l help my gas mileage and horsepower?
Will hollowing out the manifold on the exhaust help gas mileage and horse power? By how much? I was going to just have it hollowed out, have a pipe put inside, and have it welded back on. I'm not doing this...just talking in theory at this point. And btw, for those that have been talking about standard vs. automatic...it is a standard.

A: in theory this is a good idea but is often the case in real life,it wont benefit. the vehicle's computer will "compensate" for any change in air flow that you were hoping to gain. you may want to install a K&N air filter, that wiil be a simple replacement, and give you close to what you were looking for.i truly hope this was of help to you, good luck always!

Q: how much does a 4/6 drop cost for a 2003 f150 2wd?
Around how much does it cost just for the parts without the labor? How much does it cost with labor?

A: That's subjective, are you adding in the cost of new tires since the stocks won't work any longer? A good kit will of course cost more. Most kits dont include shocks, and if they do they are usually low quality ones. DJM around $1000 depending on where you buy it. The link below you can use just to see the option. http://www.andysautosport.com/ford/1997_2003_f150/suspension/lowering_kits/complete_lowering_kits/djm_suspension/ Then a good shop will charge around $500 and up to install. I recommend finding the best components, springs, shocks, spindles, etc.. on ebay or shops for the best bang for the buck. Front 2" Coil springs $129 - $179 2" Drop spindles $169 - $299 Rear 3" drop leafs - $250 - $325 pair. 3" Shackle kit $250 - $325 Beltech Shocks - $280 set of 4 If it were me just go ahead and air it out and let it ride really low.

Q: What is the gas mileage on a 2003 Ford F150 FX4?
how is the gas mileage on this truck? how much will i expect ot pay on average to fill it up?

A: You're looking at around 13-18 MPG. The cost of a fill up is irrelevant. I mean it could have a 5 gallon tank that you had to fill up twice a day or a 500 gallon tank you filled up once every 2 months, either way you're still getting 13-18 MPG.

Q: Has anyone put a throttle body spacer on a 1997 to 2003 ford F150 With a 5.4 triton?
I am considering a throttle body spacer for a mod on my 99 f150 ext cab with a 5.4 but have not yet made the purchase i want to know what the results are from someone who has done this modification or knows someone that has done this modification i heard that they are only good for about 1 or 2 mpg and i heard that they hurt mpg so i would like to hear from someone who knows first hand Ford F150 Ext Cab 5.4 triton V8 4x4 with a k and n air filter and the rest of the truck is factory stock just curious if it will help gas milleage or hurt it need some information from someone who has had previous experience

A: Throttle body spacers are complete wastes of money. Your better off saving your money and buying a handheld tuner. That way you can improve your MPG or add more power depending on what you need at the time. There is nothing that adding a half inch plate of metal in between the plenum and TB that will had MPG or power. The other step for getting more MPG is to change the gear ratio in your truck. That will make your acceleration drop though.
